I spent the early part of my career as a Chartered Accountant, sitting on the other side of the table from founders. I saw the same pattern again and again: strong ideas, real customers, genuine effort, and no financial spine holding any of it together. Businesses were not failing because the idea was wrong. They were failing because nobody had helped them build the fundamentals early enough.
DhanCapital Ventures came out of that observation. We started it to be the kind of partner I kept wishing those businesses had found sooner. Not a cheque that arrives and disappears, but a partner who stays through the difficult quarters, asks the uncomfortable questions and helps a founder become investable long before the next round is on the table.
Pragya and I built this firm around a simple belief: capital is the easiest thing we give a founder. The harder and more valuable things are financial clarity, strategic patience, honest counsel and access to people who can open a door. That is the work we show up for every day from our office in Sarjapura.
